The Kenyan driver was the first to be flagged off by President William Ruto at KICC today

Top-seeded Kenyan rally driver Carl Tundo is confident of a good performance in the WRC Safari Rally that was officially flagged off by President William Ruto earlier today at the KICC.

Tundo believes the conditions this year are better than last year hence is projecting an easier drive in Naivasha.

“It has rained therefore the routes are a bit compacted and a lot better than last year. I expect and easy drive and better performance,” He said.

“This is my 24th Safari Rally and I will just go out there and do my very best,” he added.

Tundo is driving a Ford Fiesta in this year’s rally and he says he’s still getting used to the car.

“It got a few issues sorted recently and I am getting the hang of it. I am getting better and let’s see how it goes.” He said.

Meanwhile President William Ruto has urged Kenyans to support the rally as they celebrate the Easter holiday.
